Classic Elegance, Reinvented

Anaglypta Westminster RD101 from the Original collection offers more than just visual appeal—it brings heritage charm and functional design together. With its intricate scrollwork and symmetrical motif, this wallpaper instantly creates a refined, traditional feel. Whether you’re updating a Victorian terrace or adding texture to a modern home, Westminster sets the tone with confidence.

A Versatile Statement Piece

This wallpaper is as adaptable as it is elegant. Use it on all four walls for a cohesive period-style finish, or apply it to a single feature wall for striking contrast. Thanks to its high-quality embossed paper construction, Westminster performs brilliantly on ceilings too—adding dimension and interest where it’s least expected.

Paintable for a Personalised Finish

One of Westminster’s biggest strengths is its ability to transform. Its paintable surface invites creativity. Choose subtle off-whites for a soft heritage look, or opt for bold contemporary shades to contrast the ornate detailing. The raised pattern takes paint exceptionally well, highlighting the texture and giving your space added depth.

Covers Imperfections with Ease

Not only does Anaglypta Westminster RD101 look refined, but it also serves a practical purpose. Its thick, embossed paper helps hide wall blemishes and surface flaws, making it ideal for renovation projects. This makes it a smart choice for older properties where walls aren’t perfectly smooth.

Built to Last

Crafted from Anaglypta’s traditional high-quality paper, Anaglypta Westminster RD101 stands up to daily wear and tear while maintaining its detailed texture. Its durable structure ensures long-lasting results, even in busy spaces like hallways and stairwells.

Why Choose Anaglypta Westminster RD101?

Choose Westminster if you want timeless style with added benefits. It blends historic charm, customisability and practical performance. Easy to apply and endlessly versatile, this wallpaper helps you create a beautiful, textured space with minimal effort. From classic interiors to eclectic spaces, Westminster offers a truly distinguished finish.

Preparation

  • Please note this product is manufactured using traditional methods and materials and has a high paper content compared to Vinyl wallpapers and as such a long soaking time is required of 15 minutes so that full expansion takes place before attempting to hang the paper.
  • Surfaces painted prior to 1960 may contain lead pigments, special precautions should be taken during preparation.
  • To minimise the hazard in event of fire, do not hang wallcoverings over polystyrene veneers.
  • Keep room warm and well ventilated.
  • Turn electricity off at the main fuse box when working around switches, sockets, light fittings etc.
  • Remove any existing loose wallcoverings or linings.
  • Surfaces must be clean, smooth and dry. • Cure areas affected by either damp or mould at the source.
  • Pre-treat new plaster or other absorbent surfaces with a fungicidally protected adhesive or ‘size’.
  • Roughen gloss painted surfaces with glass paper. Lining paper is recommended for uneven or contrasting surfaces.
  • Freshly painted surfaces should be left for at least 3 days prior to application.
  • We recommend a good quality ready mixed adhesive suitable for heavyweight wallcoverings and apply evenly. Typical consumption should be a minimum of 1 KG per roll but please follow the adhesive manufacturers guidance.

Application Guidance (for walls)

1. Measure 50cm (20”) out from a corner. Avoid an area with windows or other details for the fi rst strip if possible. Using a plumbline as a guide mark a vertical line from ceiling to fl oor. N.B; Always ensure the width of the roll will be wide enough to fill the gap between the line and the corner, especially important in older properties where corners may not be perpendicular.

2. Cut strips to length allowing extra for the pattern match and trimming. Apply the ready mixed adhesive evenly and ensure the entire revers is covered including the edges.

3. Fold pasted sides inwards and leave to soak for a minimum of 15 minutes. Before application check no areas of paste have dried out and apply a little additional paste if required.

4. Position the paper on the wall following the guide line. Brush down the paper starting at the center, brushing out towards the edges. N.B Take care to only apply very light pressure when smoothing out the paper. Use a good quality brush, other implements such as rollers and spatulas may permanently fl atten the surface. NB; Small bubbles may appear randomly in the paper that reappear even after brushing. This indicates a little paper expansion has occurred after application and if not excessive this will disappear as the paper dries out.

5. Crease and mark with a pencil before trimming to size at top and bottom or other features such as door frames.

6. Remove excess adhesive from the surface immediately with a damp sponge.

7. Ensure subsequent lengths are applied in the correct direction use butt joints matching patterns as necessary. Ensure all lengths are firmly adhered.

8. This product can be painted once the adhesive has fully dried out, normally after 24-48 hours.

Application Guidance (for ceilings)

1. If a ceiling is not square it may be advantageous to consider hanging the strips across the shorter side for easier handling.

2. Draw a guide line 50cm (20″) from the edge of the ceiling.

3. Cut strips to length allowing extra for the pattern match and trimming. Apply the ready mixed adhesive evenly and ensure the entire revers is covered including the edges.

4. Fold pasted sides inwards and leave to soak for a minimum of 15 minutes. Before application check no areas of paste have dried out and apply a little additional paste if required.

5. Position the paper on the ceiling following the guideline. Brush the paper onto the ceiling starting at the centre and brushing out towards the edges, expelling all air bubbles. N.B Take care to only apply very light pressure when smoothing out the paper. Use a good quality brush, other implements such as rollers and spatulas may permanently flatten the surface. NB; Small bubbles may appear randomly in the paper that reappear even after brushing. This indicates a little paper expansion has occurred after application and if not excessive this will disappear as the paper dries out.

6. Crease and trim at edges.

7. Remove excess paste immediately with a damp sponge.

8. Ensure subsequent lengths are applied in the correct direction use butt joints matching patterns as necessary. Ensure all lengths are firmly adhered.

9. This product can be painted once the adhesive has fully dried out, normally after 24-48 hours.
