Anaglypta Churchill RD385 Original wallpaper delivers traditional style through intricate embossed detail. With its heritage-inspired design, it adds instant character to period homes and spaces in need of a classic touch. Whether you’re restoring a Victorian hallway or designing a timeless feature wall, Churchill offers elegance that never goes out of style.

Durable and Practical for Every Room

This wallpaper isn’t just about looks—it performs beautifully, too. The heavyweight paper is ideal for covering minor wall imperfections, helping to create a smooth, flawless finish with less effort. You can apply it to walls or ceilings, and it’s tough enough to stand up to busy areas like hallways, dining rooms or staircases.

Paintable Surface for Custom Styling

Churchill arrives in white, ready to paint. That means you’re free to coordinate it with any interior colour scheme. From warm neutrals to bold feature tones, the paintable surface allows you to achieve exactly the look you want. Better still, you can repaint it as your style evolves, offering long-term flexibility.

Elegant Embossed Detail for Added Dimension

With its finely textured pattern, Anaglypta Churchill RD385 creates an inviting sense of depth. It adds dimension to flat walls and draws the eye with its classic detail. Use it on full walls for maximum impact or beneath a dado rail for a subtle, sophisticated finish.

Easy to Hang, Built to Last

Thanks to its sturdy construction, this wallpaper is easy to handle and apply. It maintains its shape during hanging and trims cleanly for a neat result. Once in place, Churchill continues to impress for years to come with its strong, scuff-resistant surface.

Ideal for Heritage Homes and Beyond

While Churchill suits traditional interiors best, it can also enhance more eclectic or transitional spaces. Pair it with period mouldings, vintage furniture or modern accents to strike the perfect balance between old and new.

Summary

Anaglypta Churchill RD385 Anaglypta Original wallpaper combines historic charm with modern practicality. Its embossed surface adds elegance and texture, while the paintable finish offers complete design freedom. For classic interiors with long-lasting style, Churchill is a perfect choice.

Preparation

  • Please note this product is manufactured using traditional methods and materials and has a high paper content compared to Vinyl wallpapers and as such a long soaking time is required of 15 minutes so that full expansion takes place before attempting to hang the paper.
  • Surfaces painted prior to 1960 may contain lead pigments, special precautions should be taken during preparation.
  • To minimise the hazard in event of fire, do not hang wallcoverings over polystyrene veneers.
  • Keep room warm and well ventilated.
  • Turn electricity off at the main fuse box when working around switches, sockets, light fittings etc.
  • Remove any existing loose wallcoverings or linings.
  • Surfaces must be clean, smooth and dry. • Cure areas affected by either damp or mould at the source.
  • Pre-treat new plaster or other absorbent surfaces with a fungicidally protected adhesive or ‘size’.
  • Roughen gloss painted surfaces with glass paper. Lining paper is recommended for uneven or contrasting surfaces.
  • Freshly painted surfaces should be left for at least 3 days prior to application.
  • We recommend a good quality ready mixed adhesive suitable for heavyweight wallcoverings and apply evenly. Typical consumption should be a minimum of 1 KG per roll but please follow the adhesive manufacturers guidance.

Application Guidance (for walls)

1. Measure 50cm (20”) out from a corner. Avoid an area with windows or other details for the fi rst strip if possible. Using a plumbline as a guide mark a vertical line from ceiling to fl oor. N.B; Always ensure the width of the roll will be wide enough to fill the gap between the line and the corner, especially important in older properties where corners may not be perpendicular.

2. Cut strips to length allowing extra for the pattern match and trimming. Apply the ready mixed adhesive evenly and ensure the entire revers is covered including the edges.

3. Fold pasted sides inwards and leave to soak for a minimum of 15 minutes. Before application check no areas of paste have dried out and apply a little additional paste if required.

4. Position the paper on the wall following the guide line. Brush down the paper starting at the center, brushing out towards the edges. N.B Take care to only apply very light pressure when smoothing out the paper. Use a good quality brush, other implements such as rollers and spatulas may permanently fl atten the surface. NB; Small bubbles may appear randomly in the paper that reappear even after brushing. This indicates a little paper expansion has occurred after application and if not excessive this will disappear as the paper dries out.

5. Crease and mark with a pencil before trimming to size at top and bottom or other features such as door frames.

6. Remove excess adhesive from the surface immediately with a damp sponge.

7. Ensure subsequent lengths are applied in the correct direction use butt joints matching patterns as necessary. Ensure all lengths are firmly adhered.

8. This product can be painted once the adhesive has fully dried out, normally after 24-48 hours.

Application Guidance (for ceilings)

1. If a ceiling is not square it may be advantageous to consider hanging the strips across the shorter side for easier handling.

2. Draw a guide line 50cm (20″) from the edge of the ceiling.

3. Cut strips to length allowing extra for the pattern match and trimming. Apply the ready mixed adhesive evenly and ensure the entire revers is covered including the edges.

4. Fold pasted sides inwards and leave to soak for a minimum of 15 minutes. Before application check no areas of paste have dried out and apply a little additional paste if required.

5. Position the paper on the ceiling following the guideline. Brush the paper onto the ceiling starting at the centre and brushing out towards the edges, expelling all air bubbles. N.B Take care to only apply very light pressure when smoothing out the paper. Use a good quality brush, other implements such as rollers and spatulas may permanently flatten the surface. NB; Small bubbles may appear randomly in the paper that reappear even after brushing. This indicates a little paper expansion has occurred after application and if not excessive this will disappear as the paper dries out.

6. Crease and trim at edges.

7. Remove excess paste immediately with a damp sponge.

8. Ensure subsequent lengths are applied in the correct direction use butt joints matching patterns as necessary. Ensure all lengths are firmly adhered.

9. This product can be painted once the adhesive has fully dried out, normally after 24-48 hours.
