Wallrock Magnetwall is a new, fun, and durable wallpaper lining that transforms any wall into a magnet-friendly surface once applied.

With a B-s1-d0 fire rating, it’s perfectly suited for schools, nurseries, colleges, and other safe educational or public environments.

Wallrock Magnetwall’s versatility ensures it can be adapted in countless ways to meet every personal, educational, or professional design need.

After application and 24 hours of drying time, it can be overlined with Wallrock Fibreliner Original or Wallrock Smooth.

Use Wallrock Power Adhesive or another premium ready-mixed adhesive to achieve a strong, reliable bond between layers and smooth results.

Acrylic paint can also be applied to Wallrock Magnetwall, allowing any colour choice and finish to match your style perfectly.

For best results, use Ekotex contact glue and apply 50–100ml per m² to both wall and Magnetwall surfaces evenly.

All magnets work with Wallrock Magnetwall, though Neodymium magnets are highly recommended for superior strength, reliability, and long-lasting magnetic performance.

Application Guidance

The working temperature (environment and substrate) must be greater than +5 ºC and less than +25 ºC. Use the specially developed Ekotex contact adhesive to ensure problem free bonding, for best results a consumption of circa 150 ml per M² is recommended. Please also refer to step 3 below.

1. Cut all lengths as required allowing extra for trimming at each end.
2. Mark a guideline with a pencil for the first length, using a string line as a guide for vertical drops or a spirit level if preferred, (essential if hanging horizontally).
3. Apply adhesive to the wall surface and reverse side of the Wallrock Magnetwall, 50-100ml per m² is recommended for the wall surface and 50ml per m² for reverse of Wallrock Magnetwall , overall 100-150 ml per m². Once the adhesive has been applied to both surfaces it is then advised to wait 20 minutes before applying Magnetwall to the surface (the adhesive will become semi translucent after 20 mins).
4. Apply the first length along the guide line, smooth out with a soft smoother, work from the centre of the drop to remove any excess of adhesive. NB; Do not apply excessive pressure when using the smoothing tool, this can cause damage to the surface.
5. Use a former/straight edge and a sharp knife to remove any excess material from the top and bottom of the drop (maintain the effectiveness of the sharp knife blade by regularly changing the blade). Good quality decorator’s shears can be used as an alternative if preferred. NB; Use clean warm water and a sponge to remove any adhesive from the front of the Magnetwall.
6. Butt joint all subsequent lengths being careful not to overlap the edges. Allow the Magnetwall to dry out thoroughly before continuing. We recommend a minimum of 24 hours, longer may be required in some circumstances dependent upon the sub surface condition and humidity.
7. Once Wallrock Magnetwall has been applied and allowed to dry thoroughly it can be painted using a suitable hard wearing paint, good quality acrylic eggshell paints offer improved longevity and durability, to enhance the finish and allow the application of a wider selection of paints we recommend overhanging with either Wallrock Fibreliner Original or Wallrock Fibreliner Smooth using Ekotex adhesive or Wallrock Power Adhesive, carefully plan where the joints of the Fibreliner will fall before hanging, allow the Wallrock Fibreliner to dry thoroughly before continuing, we recommend a minimum of 24 hours, longer may be required in some circumstances dependent upon the sub surface condition and humidity.
8. Use a good quality washable paint, we advise an eggshell finish for its hardwearing characteristics, these types of paints better resist marking from repeated magnet use. It is also possible to use ‘whiteboard’ paint or ‘blackboard’ paint if required. NB; We recommend the surface of Magnetwall is lined before painting , please see step 7 above.

Once the paint has dried the finished surface is ready for use with magnets. Whilst all magnets of a suitable size will work on Magnetwall we do recommend our Neodymium magnets for improved performance.

RECOMMENDED TOOLS

Preparation;
Surface condition will determine what tools are required for wall preparation. However best results are achieved on a perfectly flat surface so you may need, good quality filler suitable for sanding, filling knife, a selection of sanding paper in different grades and a sanding block.

Application;
A sharp, good quality knife or good quality decorator’s shears, string line or spirit level, decorators pencil , smoothing tool, straight edge, decorator’s sponge, a bucket for clean warm water, a roller and roller tray for adhesive application, medium sized brush, tape measure.

Surface Preparation Guidance

We recommend before hanging the Wallrock Magnetwall that preparation is first carried out to a high standard, all imperfections on the wall should be removed prior to hanging, the best prepared surfaces will yield the smoothest finish. Wallrock Magnetwall is a dense material, 1700 grams per M² and will highlight any imperfections left on the wall surface. As with any wallpaper the surface should be primed / sealed if it is too porous and allowed to dry before attempting to hang the Wallrock Magnetwall.

Delivery

Orders placed before 1:00pm will be dispatched the same day and are scheduled for delivery on the next working day.

Orders placed after 1:00pm will be dispatched on the next working day.

We typically send orders via Parcelforce. Once your order has been handed over to the courier, delivery times are dependent on their service. Delays are uncommon, but may occasionally occur.
