TUFF STUFF is a modern reinforced wallpaper that is quick and easy to hang using paste the wall technique OR if preferred it can be hung conventionally by pasting pre-cut lengths on a pasting table before application.
TUFF STUFF produces a strong, durable finish that is suitable for most applications, especially useful for high traffic areas or on walls and ceilings that are cracked and damaged.
It is important that all surfaces are free from dust and loose particles. Fill and smooth large cracks or holes, TUFF STUFF will bridge any small crack and holes. If the surface is porous eg. plasterboard and new plaster, seal with a size designed for the purpose. For wood panelling, rub down with sandpaper to form a key for the adhesive.
We recommend a good quality ready mixed adhesive such as our own Easy paste or Wallrock Power Adhesive is used to apply this product – alternatively some high performance flake adhesives may be suitable. If in doubt, test-hang a piece or consult your decorating retailer. Before hanging, check all rolls are the same product and undamaged, and that you have enough for the job in hand.
WARNING: Turn off electricity supply before working around plug points, light fittings and switches.
Instructions for hanging TUFF STUFF
1. Hang directly from the roll onto a pre-pasted wall or ceiling. Applying the inner surface to the wall. Please note TUFF STUFF can also be hung horizontally.
2. Mark a guideline with a pencil for the first length, using a plumbline as a guide for vertical drops or a spirit level for horizontal application.
3. Apply the adhesive direct to the wall or ceilings, apply enough to hang two lengths at a time, ensuring the paste exceeds the width of the second length. If pasting the material make sure all edges are covered. With both methods, hang TUFF STUFF immediately - no soaking is required.
4. Apply the first length along the guideline and smooth out with a wallpaper brush then trim the ends.
5. Butt join all subsequent lengths being careful not to overlap the edges.
6. Allow TUFF STUFF to dry thoroughly before decorating with emulsion paint (normally 24 hours is sufficient)
